WHAT'S HAPPENING
Interactive Technology Exhibition at GE’s London 2012 Legacy Event

Rapiergroup was recently commissioned to create an ‘Interactive Technology Exhibition’ at GE’s “London 2012: How can we deliver the legacy” event at the British Museum in London. The aim of the event was to educate audiences about complex infrastructure issues and solutions for host cities.

The event brought together a range of stakeholders responsible for the delivery of the Games, including senior executives from the public and private sectors, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).

Our brief was to create an environment that would demonstrate how each GE business can work with their customers to deliver the legacy promise for 2012. The exhibit needed to be re-usable and therefore in-line with the eco/sustainable strategy. With the sheer scale and diversity of GE, the challenge was to showcase all relevant technologies and solutions using comprehensive yet clear messaging.

In keeping with the event theme, 5 key ‘zones’ were created: Building the legacy; Powering the legacy; Connecting the legacy; Sustaining the legacy and Ensuring a healthy legacy. Each zone focussed on key offerings from multiple businesses using the mediums of graphics, interactive programmes, AV displays and product showcases.

In addition, a series of high impact free-standing light boxes were used to bring to life the ecomagination message as well as communicating the top-line visions for delivering the legacy.

Rapiergroup was responsible for the design and build of the exhibition as well as creating illustrative graphics, interactive programmes and managing the AV content.

The event was a resounding success and has provided GE with a series of on-brand environments to use at key events across the Businesses.
